Susan Simmons

With more than 25 years of experience in design and construction, Susan brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. Originally from Houston, she has lived in South Africa, Cameroon, Australia, Marfa, and Detroit. It was in Detroit that she earned her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, the nation's premier institution dedicated to graduate education in art, architecture, craft, and design.

Through her tenure at Cranbrook, Susan forged her passion for art, refined her creative style and learned advanced design techniques. Her attention to detail shines in areas like hard finishes for new construction, bespoke cabinet and furniture design, spatial planning, 3D modeling, and sourcing.

An artist at heart, Susan finds inspiration through 'excellence in action' and enjoys exploring the works of emerging artists, writers, and artisans. She thrives when collaborating with a talented team and we appreciate her ability to bring great ideas to life.
